Res. Asst. Doğukan Arslan from
İTÜ NLP Research Group led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşen Eryiğit (Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering)
won the third prize in the
Turkish Natural Language Processing Competition at TEKNOFEST 2021 with his project titled "
The Expert Who Allows Easy Access to Supreme Court Decisions with Semantic Similarity Methods"
The project provides easy access to the Supreme Court decisions for all kinds of legal documents. The decisions that are most appropriate to the content of a sample document uploaded to the system and that have been taken before by the Supreme Court are found with the help of a pre-trained natural language processing model. In this way, it is ensured that lawyers quickly obtain precedent decisions in the large database of the Supreme Court.
