SofTex Team (Uğur Ayvaz, Kadir Özlem, Ayşe Feyza Yılmaz, Ali Emre Öztaş)  from ITU Soft Sensors Lab  led by  Assist. Prof. Dr. Gökhan İnce (Department of Computer Engineering) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özgür Atalay (Department of Textile Engineering) won the third prize in the Communication Technologies Competition with the project titled Real-Time Activity and Heart Rate Detection Using Textile-Based Sensors.

In the project, real-time activity and heart rate detection was performed by integrating textile-based capacitive strain sensors and ECG electrodes into the garment, and a modular wearable system was designed by using Bluetooth LE and IoT technologies.

We congratulate the SoftTex Team and professors leading ITU Soft Sensors Lab and wish them continued success.
