The paper by Prof. Dr. Hazım K. Ekenel and Selin Gök Işık was awarded the Best Paper Award.

The paper titled "Deep Convolutional Feature-based Gait Recognition Using Silhouettes and RGB Images" by Prof. Dr. Hazım K. Ekenel (Deparment of Computer Engineering) and Selin Gök Işık (Aselsan Academy graduate student) was awarded the Best Paper Award at UBMK 2021 (6th International Conference on Computer Science and Engineering).

We congratulate Selin Gök Işık and Prof. Dr. Hazım K. Ekenel and wish them continued success.

Computer engineering education in Istanbul Technical University started in 1980 as a program under the Department of Control and Computer Engineering Department. In order to keep up with the contemporary developments, Computer Engineering was reshaped as a separate department under the same faculty. All related programs and departments were transferred to the new Faculty of Computer and Informatics Engineering in 2010.
